The Top Searches Realized in Google by Peruvian, Brasilians, and Russians in 2010

The Word Cup,  the earthquake in Chile and Haiti, together with the Chilean miners and Justin Beaber are some the top search querieas realized by Google users in 2010. As we leave the year 2010 behind, Zeitgeist has taken a look at the biggest events, news, and people who shaped the year. They have analyzed the billions of queries that were typed into Google over the year to give us a glimpse of 2010 as seen through the lenses of Google searches.

Russia

Hot topics for Russian Internet users this year became policy (in particular, the change of the mayor of Moscow), sports (Olympics and World Cup) and online services. It is interesting that five of the 10 fastest-growing requests – this is social networking.

Brazil

They say in World Cup year and elections in Brazil stops. But is this true? Well, that’s not what we have seen, at least not in the Brazilian Internet. What were the issues that attracted the most attention and were the most sought of Brazilian Internet? Haiti, Chile and the search term earthquake are among the most popular search terms within the global news category, alongside the term Besiktas. In Latin America Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Argentinian singer, guitarist, and songwritter Gustavo Cerati were the most searched during the 2010 year.
